And there is still a good chance that a '94 1100GS is fixable today even after 18 years whereas I suspect that fixing a problem in 2030 on a WC bike ordered today is probably close to zero

Must admit quite surprised at the prices, but then plastic is cheaper than steel.

It'll keep prices of the finest ever GS's - the 1150's up too, so new 12GS's at £13k will do the rest of us no harm at all

Does anyone really believe the new model is expensive compared to the outgoing model? BMWs have always cost a little more than other Euro brands but now they are about the same as similar Truimph or Ducati models.
Money is there to be enjoyed so Good Luck to whoever buys the new GS and health to enjoy it

The price is comparable to the existing 1200 - I paid £13440 for my Triple Black with options in May 2011.

Considering that the R1100GS was the best part of £9500 new in 1994 I think the prices have been kept fairly reasonable in comparison. Still a lot more than I can afford though

I have been invited to by the dealer as soon as the demo is ready he wants me on the bike to sew the seed so to speak I wont be changing yet as my bike is only 5 months old.

The dealer wants repeat business from a genuine previous customer.

if bmw have a demo avalable it is in there intrest for people to ride it, if it is good people will buy it, lots of bikes are brought on the scheme and the rider never owns the thing anyway so the price means nowt if you can afford the monthly payment w/c on the drive.
glad i took the triumph 1200 explorer out for a demo...i thought it would be really good....

only ever paid cash in full for my bikes dealers hate it, one let slip that people that pay by this method are known in the trade as dinosaurs, to which i replyed i might be a dinosaur but i i am a dinosaur that owns a bike not bmw's bitch with an agreement
