Just because I'm a moderator doesn't mean that I can't hold or express an opinion Peter. I'm sorry that you have taken offence, but that is my honest feeling on the sordid episodes.

And I would understand if you did. But I had the sense to delete it. You on the other hand are universally putting all Roman Catholic Clergy of which I am one into the same bracket, with your comments on the word priest. Come on Aidan retract it

I have deleted it, but you cannot change what is in the hearts and minds of many many Irish people and were you in this discussion in a pub or on the streets I doubt if it would be retracted just because you were offended.

The truth is that the organisation is rotten to the core and unless someone high up within it has the balls to do something about it it will go the way of the dodo. And given the lack of balls displayed to date that cannot happen soon enough.

Well said that man. Aiden it would appear that a select few in this forum will always resort to name calling and the like when their particular views are not supported on any subject.

I have no particular affiliation for any one church and I'm sorry to say that whilst I know that a great deal of good may exist within the churches, their interpretation of how they and their flock show it, certainly in my experience is distinctly un-christian.

But again that's my personal view and no doubt it might offend, ha, as if I give a toss! :beer:

I am glad to see the issue in the subject line is taken seriously as a major wrong in our society, on this board. What I want to see is criminal charges, because that is how a democratic society should expect such crimes to be dealt with. My suggestion to shoot the perps like rabid dogs is a personal view.
Now closing the thread, it drifted a bit and the core is the thing.
