Problem reading Garmin .gdb files

A fellow GSer kindly sent a list of lanes around Surrey but I can't open it and generate the following error message in MapSource:
"the file cannot be read because it uses a subsequent file version. This program can read MPS files as well as GDB files version 2 and below"

Any boffins out there?

You probably have not got the latest version of Mapsource. The "updater" may not work so you may need to go to http://www8.garmin.com/support/download_details.jsp?id=209 and manually download.
