Problem's closing IE7

Running XP Home and about a week ago i upgraded IE6 to IE7 now every time i close IE it locks up and you get the message IE has encountered a problem, was fine before the upgrade!
Anyone help please?

reyno.....................just go to start....all programs....accessories......system tools......system restore...... restore my computer to a earlier time...press next.....choose a date then press next and the pc will go to a earlier time when it was working ok.....................janie
 
i believe you can uninstall IE7 (leaves 6) in add remove programs in the control panel.

do that, and install firefox instead :)

BTW...when you uninstall IE7, in typical w@nky Micosoft fashion (they hate you being able to use other software) you're very likely to get a warning box saying that anything you've installedsince IE7 went on might not work........

It's bollix...apparently it's because any prog that has an html based help file in it has that help file registered as an IE7 document.......in reality, it's highly unlikely to make any difference whatsoever, they're just trying to scare people into staying with IE7 :mad:

You'll also find that if you have automatic updates ON, you'll get popups saying there are updates available....you can stop these by going to the windows update pages, looking at your update history and telling it to ignore the IE7 update...
 
Thanks all, i don't normaly update so eagerly so looks like i'm best to stick to my old way's.
