Bit of an update.

Wiring up the rear light today , I will leave the wires for the indicators in place just in case I decided to fit them however I am more inclined to fit bar end ones.

I've decided against the cherry bomb silencers I am going to run 38mm stainless tubing all the way along and fit a DB killers in the end of both exhausts

I've been on to Tony Archer he has promises the seat for the end I next week so hopefully I will have the exhausts finished by next weekend so I can use it.

My recent experience of Tony Archer was he's lovely man and does a great job for a very fair price. But he was a bit frustrating to deal with, making a fairly extended series of "definitely ready for end of the week" noises which weren't followed up in reality. I think he works on the old school basis of "he who is making the most noise gets served next". Or maybe he's just got a huge stack of work and is a bit forgetful about writing down the deadlines he's agreed. Or maybe decades working closely with evostik has warped his perception of time and space. I eventually ended up calling him on a daily basis to remind him about my seat, which seemed to work.

That would be my only gripe though - I'd still strongly recommend him, even with the caveat that multiple reminders may be required.

Bike's looking great by the way. And you're definitely going to beat my R80 restyle project to completion...

love the overall look of the bike ,however i think the back mudguard just doesnt look right ,if its the look your going for ,then i take it back ,but it doesnt seem to be one thing or the other.
it just seems way to high ,and to short ,but what do i know ,every body hated the exhausts on my chop ,its a personell choice .....good work

Thanks for the comments chaps , mud guard is become an issue with some people , yes it does seem a little high but when you sit on it it's fine

Lets see what it looks like with the seat on

Bit of an update Tony Archer phone today to tell me the seat is in the post, next day post so fingers crossed it will be here Friday.

I should have the basic exhaust pipes finished tomorrow to put on and work the supporting brackets out.

Plan of action is it strip the paint off the tank this weekend, then wet it and leave it to go rusty then clear prime and clear coat it. (Maybe)

Have you considered iron oxide paint? Paint it on hit it with an activator (acid) and you get a nice rusted effect. I have used it on some sculptures. By painting over the original paint the tank still has some protection.

There is a local ute done completely in iron oxide -crowd stopper :D
