Wiring products do a special tool for removing the connectors from blocks, but ime sure someone will be along soon to tell you of a cheaper way with a small screwdriver, lookin good.

Who would be this 'Wiring Products'? Can someone post a picture of this tool?

Thanks but thats just the home page - I can't find the tool.

I could also do with understanding how the say 12way male female connectors work.

Almost need a training course on how to do this electrical stuff.

Looking in the brochure it is called a "terminal extraction set" and is on page 25 , product reference 70399, and costs a whopping £20.52.

They can be a pain in the ass but if you get one of these terminal demounting kits LINKY

You insert it up the side of the actual terminal and it squashes a small protrusion that stops the terminal coming back out again

aha - cheers - I spent and hour trying to find it

Might have another poke with a micros screw driver though before shelling out that money plus postage to remove one terminal

Tell me: up the side ? Looking at this picture which colour side(s) is it that it needs to be stuck into? And from the front or the back?

Maybe I need a huge magnyfing glass cause I can't see anything down the hole

That would be into Sir's Yellow and green stars from that side and probably removal from the rear

I've just been out in the garage with my removal tool (same as the ones the guys are posting links to) I'll be damned if I can get the terminal out. It should just be a case of poking the tool in the hole (ooeer Mrs!!) and then pulling it out the back. It's a right pain in the arse. Good luck with that.

Might be easier to buy a new plastic socket and associated terminals a wire up a new one

I think one of the reasons I have slowed down is that I really don't like doing electrics

Especially when it involves cutting into a brand new wiring loom

I never did get the connector out of the old fuse box - spent hours pushing and poking it. I guess I'll have to contact motoworks and see if they do connectors.

Anyway got stuck in this weekend

Main speedo/tacho unit now wired up, as well as horn, heated handle bar grips, warning lights, headlight, fabricated brackets for indicators

.. so very nearly there

funny you should say that. Couldn't sleep last night so went out to the workshop at midnight and

- wired up indicator warning lights
- made rear mud guard extension to cover battery
- mounted sump plate and main stand bash plate
- wired up electronic gearbox speed sensor to speedometer
- wired up neutral switch
- adjusted clutch
- made bracket for heated handle bar grip control box
- finished all the instrument wiring - its a bit messy and needs coming back to
- adjusted rear brake
- added oil to the bevel drive and monolever
- fitted new flexi number plate

scratched my head and couldn't find anything else to do ..so it must be finished?

... waiting for the tank and screen to come back from the paintshop this week

looks great. Have your TTR indicators started bending outwards? I tried dabbing a bit of silicon to keep mine secure.

must admit I am dissapointed with them. They are very floppy. There are quite a few things on the bike that I'll come back to when I have got her "commisioned". They are one. The other is I have made lots of brackets and fittings in alloy - I think they'd be better/stronger/wear better in stainless

ahh the painted hadn't finished the screen

was dying to get it finished today but the painter hadn't finished the screen ... ahhh

Got it all back together and went for ride on a private road. Excellent - everything

running really well and feeling very stable.
