I got one on the front if my 1995 r1100gs its great easily adjustable i dont go off road much so it doesnt have to do to much. I also brought a pair for my harley 3 years on now very pleased and they are rebuildable. I wouldnt pit them against ohlins of wilber but those are a different price point for different tasks 👍

To be completely honest I could not see anything Different in the end result, except a "Brand Name" and £400 more out of my bank account!!

Seriously it's a shock absorber mainly for road use, not pure "race"! and to be honest it does a bloody good job at keeping things squared away when you are making progress !!

And they DEFINITELY do a bloody good job over the standard Showa with a lot of Miles on it !

As far as Options? I will still chose Protech even if I have £650 for a bouncy reboundy thing!!

They do the job well but if you have the money you take your choice !

N.B. IT may take a few miles to get itself sorted and at first I was worried then they came good and I was pushing the edge of the tyre where before i was afraid to lean with the fucking about of the old worn shock !

Perhaps I should consider changing my standars shocks after 115,000 miles.😁
I bought the first one for my 1150RT It was horrible to ride

93000 miles and basically "pogo'd" at 40 or over

Wheel and tyre was checked and still showed true

I was reluctant to buy a used one and the protech was unknown but fitted the available funds

I thought no matter what it has to be better than what is in there

And to be honest It was a revelation

You just don't realise how far the standard shock has degraded until you change it out

For those who have used Protech what was the delivery time from placing the order ?

Been a while but im sure it was pretty quick, i was pleased with whole service they provided.give them a call they usually happy to help 👍

I’d have them but they aren’t TüV rated (needed in Germany). Shame as they seem to be very well constructed.

Ordered a front shock for the R1150GS last Friday and no updates so far on the order page other than "awaiting fulfillment " , if there is no update by the middle of next week I will give them a ring
