Hi all looking for suggestions on the best way to fix my PTT switch to my gsa1200 any pics suggestions you may have are most welcome
Cheers Jon

Aren't most just cable tied to the handgrip, so that you can operate it comfortably with your thumb.

Which thumb, mate? Probably the left one.

Loads of pictures out there......

Bang on, cable tie to the grip utilising the built in flanges designed for the purpose. The only downside being the lack of flexibility as to where you position your hand on the clutch lever ....

Cable tie method seems a bit bodge it and leg it fix I was looking for something a little more refined gents ;)

Having large hands, I found the clip to the rubber grip unsuitable, so asked Intaride for a PTT I could panel mount.

Got some nylon sheet and made this up.
No painting and no corrosion, probably would get a pure black next time but it was an off cut and took 15 mins to make.

It's a simple switch, which invariably fails at some point or other. The cable tie method to the handgrip is the most practicable, trust me.

Failing that, Google is your best bet. Loads of ways out there, often on US sites, including bods who have made all sorts of ingenious PTT switches. Worth the effort? Um..... No.

Very Neat..it does not catch the Tank on full lock being low down ?

On the sick at the moment so nowt else better to do wapping i understand your point of view and ultimately you are right it's a simple switch but cable ties are no good for my OCD lol ;)

I can't find a very old post on another forum. But basically someone managed to position a PTT so that it was operated by his left knee pushing into the bike. It's an idea, but not sure how feasible on your bike.
Good luck.

TWeedy, what kind of system are you connecting it to?

I have an Intaride Hawk system, and they are very helpful with various PTT buttons to suit, if you can get a panel mount version, you can make this kind of bracket, if it's an autocom style you may need to make an angled or machined bracket.

It's an Autocom system there is s good radio comms specialist in York I think I will drop by and see if they can magiver something like yours ;)

I find electric insulating tape works for me, never been a problem in six years of instructing and if the switch fails it is a simple removal. Might not be aesthetically pleasing for some but works for me:D

a bit late to post....but thought it might help others...?

after trying various installs - I found this to work best for me instead of trying to move my thumb to hit a button .....
