Puncture kit warning

Michelin will repair it to a high standard so you'll have to decide on paying for send / return carriage and cost of repair and then relate that to how much mileage you could get from the tyre to see if it's worth it?
A decent bike shop could arrange it for you but you may even have a Michelin factory nearby and be able to drop it off yourself :nenau

Repair it

I would say that your tyre is perfectly ok to repair - with a mushroom patch from the inside. Michelin approve the repair of their motorcycle tyres - even z-rated tyres and the position of your puncture looks fine for a repair:thumb
I've had a few tyres repaired over the years and used them right down past the depth markers and no problem - ever!

Just use it. A DR mate of mine usually ends up with 3 or 4 sticky string repairs in his tyre's. He couldn't afford to replace them just cos they've had a puncture, and I've just spent a weekend charging round the highlands with him, so can confirm he ain't slow. As always way to much BS talked about this kind of stuff. Of course a tyre seller is gonna say replace ffs, :blast
None of us actually use these tyre's anywhere near there potential, so using a repaired one at 50% of its design limit is no problem at all.

Tomorrow I'll post a shot of the interior of the tyre. But seeing it and based on lots of helpful comments I'll definitely be repairing it. Because I've got the Italy jaunt ahead of me I wasn't too fussed fitting a new one and if I get this one fixed it'll make no difference in the end.

So back to my original point. Don't buy the flippin 'screw in' kit from Gryyp. It doesn't work. You'd be better off with a few 6mm wood screws and a tube of butyl!

Thanks for all the input gents! All helpful

That looks shit jut looking at it! My GTR1400 is tubeless and I never leave home without the Stop 'n' Go pocket tyre plugger kit & compressor. If I'm on the F800GS (tubed) I have my AA breakdown... I've repaired plenty of punctures by the side of the road whilst on tour but I'm not doing it by the roadside in the UK: the AA can truck me home then I'll sort it later at my leisure.
