Hello,
This is going to sound silly and before anyone posts sarcastic comments, i'm asking here because i don't know the answer and therefore asking on here will hopefully improve my understanding.

Went to go out on bike today and found i have a puncture, a nail has gone through the centre of the tyre, BMW rescue will recover the bike for me to the dealer, but my question is this; Can this type of puncture be repaired? Or do i need a new tyre? The tyre is a Metzeler Exp which has been on the bike for 10 days.

Any thoughts ?
Chris

Should be repairable. Get yourself a Stop and Go kit or the tyre strings off eBay and a little 12v compressor and fix it yourself :thumb2 I've used the strings about 4 or 5 times now with no problems.

Update,

BMW Rescue recovered me to the dealer who repaired the puncture for a good price as he took pity on me for the tyre only being a couple of weeks old.

I would love to have been able to repair it myself but best to get the experts to do it and use BMW Rescue.

Thankyou for the replies, even on a crappy day (weather and puncture) its a good feeling being around "bike" people, everyone including the replies here, the recovery guy and all the dealer staff are all so upbeat and positive about biking, you don't get the same feeling with cars.
