Puncture Safe ??

Does **** up the sensor

Despite several posts saying this is bollocks , that is exactly what Ultraseal Puncture Safe has done on my '08 GS. Sensor working , put in Puncture safe, sensor not working. End of story!

Why it does in some cases and not in others i don't know, but clearly it is capable of ****ing them up.

Thanks for your reply, this backs up what BMW dealer told me!

Did you get them fixed or are you living without your sensors working from now on?

Allow me to talk BOLLOCKS as well.

I have a set of spare wheels (with sensors in) that I loaned to a friend who was offroading his 1200 GSA in Spain. When he got back I changed the tyres back to road tyres. He had put slime in and knackered the sensors.

So from personal experience (and cost) it DOES affect the sensors.

BMW told me to replace both sensors plus reprogram computer costs about £300.

This would not put me off putting in Puncture Safe in my other bikes but not my GSA after learning all this.

Putting up without them

At the moment i putting up with my failed rear TPM , does anybody have a rough idea what they cost to replace.

Its a tough call on the Puncture Safe , because of fears of screwing the TPM's i did without in Morocco last year and regretted it. My K12RS has puncture safe in it but has no TPM's.

I suppose if you feel the main benefit is preventing a blow out then maybe Puncture safe is worth the loss of the TPM's. I came to the conclusion my TPMs where never that accurate anyway

You'd be very unlucky to get a blowout with tubeless tyres ......that is their advantage. Repairs easily effected with a Tire Plugger kit.
