Bit of an update...
Righto...
Got the bike back, serviced and all, no complaints at all. Very good chaps. Everything perfect.
Both tyres were silmed with UltraSeal (FOC

)...
... Which worked quite well, it lost a little pressure, but this was with the

screw in the tyre. And I really wasn't happy with that... so my attempt last night to unscrew the screw resulted in UltraSeal not sealing it. Surprise?! Not really. I wonder if some of the UltraSeal has leaked out and that there wasn't enough in the tyre to seal it now.
Anyhoo.... screwed the screw back at the garage and rode home... then I unscrewed it and patched it with BMW's own kit (good to have a spare one!), and this seems to have worked perfectly. The kit is extremely easy to use, and fast.
I've now monitored the pressure and there has been no confirmed leak.
Lesson learnt?
- UltraSeal should probably be used as a preventive measure, not repairing measure (oops, it says so on the leaflet!)
- Don't "fret" when the garage tells you you're fubared.
- Planning saves pennies (i.e having a set of tyres would have saved all this hassle)
- The BMW puncture repair kit is, so far, quite amazing. I just hope it'll stand up to a bit more than promised "on the tin" (60km/h and 'replace immediately')
- BMW prices, will, erhm, always be BMW prices
Thanks for the replies everybody!
Do we have nice weather for this weekend...?
