Update on the Continental wobble situation.

Been touring in the alps and the Conti's were nothing short of superb wet or dry. Put a huge grin on my face on the first mountain pass we hit (the Susten) which was wet but mega enjoyable for me and the missus because I had so much condfidence in them.

Pretty resistant to squaring aswell even after a 500 mile autobahn day on monday back from the Sachsenring. More than I can say for my mates Michelin Pilots on his Tiger 1050 on day 3 who had to replace the front which had squared in Switzerland at a cost of £320 (yes, that was just for a front tyre fitted, I thought he was going to keel over or smack the bloke).

A bit unstable on overbanding, especially when wet, but that is fairly well documented.

The high speed wobble doesn't bother me as much now. Fitted a Wunderlich touring screen and winglets and Hyperpro springs before I went and this has moved the weave from 75-90mph to anything over 110mph so on British roads I can live with that as it's rare (if ever) you can do it over here. Wobble still there and unsure if the change in aerodynamics with the screen has cured it with airflow / removing minute bar inputs from me with the touring screen or by the Hyperpro springs I've fitted have jacked the back end up and changed the front geometry becasue try as I might (and I tried pretty hard) I never grounded anything out. Academic really as it's moved the instablilty to a higher, rarely used speed.

Would I buy them again, absolutley no question YES. Can I recommend them over other road rubber, no because I haven't ridden them, I can just say I like em.

On a similar topic, my bike has the optional tyre pressure moitors fitted and when I bought it Alan Jeffries said that it would be better for them to replace the tyres. That way if a sensor was damaged they'd replace it FOC. I think it may just be scare tactics but I have a seed of doubt. They quoted £230 to supply, fit and balance a pair of Roadsmarts, (ride in ride out), which I thought sounded pretty good until I read some of the prices some of you guys have paid.
Has anyone had any experience of sensors being damaged by a feckless mechanical fitter?

I shagged my last set of Battlewings on my GSA, in less than 6k miles (front & rear). Mind you I was riding with under inflated tyres, due to my TPM’s reading in BAR. :blast

Anyhow, I got my stealer to re-program the TPM’s to read PSI now and I’ve fitted a new set of Battlewings (because I like them:thumb).

They cost £175 from Protyre in Bristol, fitted to loose wheels (easy job on the GS). They were aware of the TPM’s and they fitted the hoops with no problems.:clap

Now running 36psi F - 38psi R (instead of 29psi F- 31psi R:augie)
