Q: g/s PD seat on a Basic

Am I right in thinking that a single seat / rack off a g/s PD ....

will bolt straight to a Basic ....

Same rear sub frame etc?

Don't know, but as discussions with Colt at East Mids proved comparing our g/s PD seats, they do vary in fit, even on the bikes they were meant for .

One question: why? That black seat looks the part on there and the orange PD seats cost a fortune new, rocking horse poo second hand.

The seat fitted is ok, I just quite like the single seat look and thought I'd try and find one as another option on the bike, although in black and not orange.
I would have thought with the Kalahari tank and the g/s subframe it should go straight on.

The Basic subframe is a one off
It's bigger than the monolever
and smaller than the paralever

96/97 but they have it on their website that one will be on the market in late 2008.

Hello Trippy,

of course it will fit.
Look at the Basic Register of the forum.
Mine ( = Basic Stef's) is a Basic with that rack on it.
( without modifications !!)
