QD connectors?

An old thread, let's move it up :)

Me have the same question, and me wonders if there's metal version of QD connectors anywhere available? The plastic ones get fekked after 2-3 years anyway (not usable anymore, coz they're too hard to connect, even w/o the seal. The plastic deforms or something. They are shite anyway in long term.)

Looky here, stainless stuff:

Any idea, they're good or nut?

There are cheaper items available but check before you buy, I've heard of some that don't seal both halves when disconnected.

Metal versions are very expensive.

Grease the O'rings prior to reconnecting them, stops them from persihing & then causing fuel leaks.

parker

parker exelent products and after sales (used on my ducati & prilla ). alittle expensive though, make sure you ask for VITTON "o" rings as the disconects are normally used in the food industry.
aprilia/ducati/ triumph all had problems with plastic disconects failing and spilling fuel over the engine.

Allright tossers and tosserinnas,

me got the metal ones. Can't remember the manufacturer, but they're high quality. Payed bleedin' 45£ for two sets  , i hope they're worth the money on a long term, the TT QD fekkers get fuked per few years, so i hope these will do better. They're acctually made for gas (propan etc) things, so should seal up the fuel very good.

... or just buy two small fuel line clamps from Frost restoration for about £9 each??? I mean, how often do you take your tank off anyway??

On travelling, at home sometimes even at the work road -

ABS re-oiling, lambda sensor swap to racing exhaust i experiment with lately, battery maitenance and taking it on/off for the winter etc etc.

bottom line: loads of times me take the tank off, really.

That's the secondary reason. The main reason is i want to access all the electricity quickly, on the road possibility, coz most of the stuff is under the tank and i don't want to start fecking with spilling fuel into your eyes and fire hazards somewhere in Asia in the middle of nowhere with dirty hands and fekked nerves IF the electicity starts to fek you and it can get really nasty! :rob

Yeah, well, that is a lot then!!!
understand your concerns about fuel leaks and electrikidy...they don't misx very well at all at all!
:D

disconnection

when i eventually get around to replacing my disconnects.............can anyone tell me the size of the barb or the ID of the fuel pipe so i can order the correct one.

PS; and do they have shut off vales in both sides or on the tank side only.
