Hi all, today my OBD2 came so i dived straight in,with the help of The Old Mechanic (Youtube)
and reset my service reminder, and bugga me it worked now (y)The elation did'nt last long.
As i tried the ESA calibration front and rear, only to be told,,,,,Error on calibration of Invalid,
so then off to ABS there on trouble codes i was told ,,,,,
Pump Motor Voltage Supply SDF0
Pump Motor Voltage Supply SDF1,
So the obvious Qs are whats going on folks, where can i find out what the code numbers mean,
and on the Actuators Control how the L d'you know what to say Yes or No to :confused:
Any advice would be greatfully received,,,,,,Cheers Baza

Motoscan can't (IIRC) calibrate suspension as far as i'm aware. Might be able to clear codes, but not calibrate the position sensors.

For error codes google them for what they mean. Someone somewhere in the world would have had the issue first. Your error codes should be 5DF0 & 5DF1. Seems to be faulty pump & faulty plug. So i'd check the power plug/communications going to it are clean and have a strong connection.

Suggest that you read this thread:
Phew thanks for the link, very interesting piece of info,I’ll double check mine later
Thanks again 👍

Thanks for your reply mate, your right the error code came up as S instead of 5🙄
Have you any idea on the Actuator Control 🤔
Thanks again I reckon it’s gonna be a long weekend 🤦‍♂️🤣👍

first thing on any old bike - it could well be full of codes that are meaningless....
next a low volt battery or small glitch can throw lies - and confuse
most of the time, delete the lot do a short ride - anything that matters will pop straight back

the fact you said before you hooked it up the TPMS wasn't functioning suggests the bike needs a bit of TLC
I would not jump straight in and play with complex stuff like suspension calibration - it probably wasn't wrong - but quite likely the system is tired / broken and you might get in a worse place

re the brakes I expect it the pump motor brushes are playing up (I know everyone here has this idea they don't play up - but its the most common designed in faliure point of any BMW motorcycle - I not talking about old rot that was another level of special...) from 2006 to 2013 ABS2 fails all day long, with the pump motor brushes stuck - the red light self test should be on with the key and should go off after a few metres...

you can find how to fix all over youtube - it was on all ABS R1200GS from 2006 to 2013 and K1200GT's and K1300GT's from 2004 to 2010
hit it with a stick - the brushes will likely free off - if not hit it harder - should work for another 6 months - or fit ford fiesta brush pack following how to videos

see the third picture - correctly called ABS II but BM aficionados think otherwise, mostly due to stupid naming nomenclature from BMW
as there are 20 times as many GS' made, you'd be better off looking for R1200GS repair videos - same module, same designed in feature that makes them play up the good news its much easier to get at on the K1300 than a R1200

BMW just got caught making the fourth iteration vibrate its brains out - USA recall to remove the bolt and put back the plastic version - Europe remains blissfully unaware of the little Mod BMW fitted worldwide in 2021 to get more work coming in the dealerships

Huge thanks Botus for taking the time to type all that,as they say (a little knowledge is a dangerous thing)
well it is with me,gonna delete the codes and go for a blast, thanks again much appreciated Baza (y);)

Update,,,,Went for a blast, and what a result the bike went through its checks then we got rolling all the warning light have gone, even the front TPMS is working if I hadn’t messed about with the rear I reckon that would be working too, gonna leave hitting the pump motor for as it looks a bit of a bugga to get to, but will defo give it a go,,,also all the trouble codes which I deleted have stayed deleted except for the rear tpms, and an exhaust flow control valve servo motor 2849,,,,,Thanks to all who replied, here’s to the next time 😉 Cheers Baza 👍

yep removing the ABS module is nasty - tank off and two little 10mm headed buggers beneath that should never have been put there

so if TPMS is up - get the gadget back on here go to the Cluster ... scroll down to coding and switch on Tyre temps and press code - now on the info button a bit more fun to amuse when on the motorway

batteries in the bluetooth sensors last 9 to 12 years if lucky.... fakes from china for 20 quid work about as well - now u have a tools to code the new sensor ID to the bikes brain....

The sensors do not use Bluetooth. They transmit at 433 MHz.

An OEM quality replacement sensor that is less expensive than the overpriced BMW part is the Schrader 3141M. It is the same form factor as the new style BMW replacement sensors and like the BMW part you also need a "service kit" (valve or screw type depending on what wheels you have).

Also there is the Schrader 33900 programmable sensor which is also the same form factor as the new BMW part. The 33900 is programmable and if programmed as if it were going to be installed in a 2009 Saturn Astra/Opel Astra H will work with BMW motorcycles equipped with the Schrader RDC. In 2022 or 2023 BMW switch from the using the Schrader RDC to using one made by LDL Technology which is part of the keyless ride module.

🤣 TPMS All working temp and press 👍
Can you hit the module in situ 🤔
Cheers Baza 👍

don't follow the q ? -
to code temps to on, tick the box, press code, cluster reboots with the feature working
then do whatever you like with the info button - its just displaying what's out there - but stupidly been hidden by BMW

the tyre temps bit still isn't enable-able with the GS911 competitor tool yet - but its coming (8 years late), its there on the K1300's too but the K1600 misses out (too sensible to retain I guess - wouldn't be german if it was made by normal people !!!!)

don't go fiddling with other stuff - it mostly doesn't work and u might do something silly

you may be right its not strictly bluetooth - but you get wireless programmable TPMS sensors, and Bluetooth is a radio system. The development of the "short-link" radio technology, later named Bluetooth, was initiated in 1989 https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bluetooth
As your article explains Bluetooth is a specific technology in a specific frequency band and the TPMS has little in common with either other than they both use radio. Best not to make misleading statements.

Sorry mate, I’ll explain, after you said about deleting trouble codes,I went for a run, while I was out I noticed the front tyre TPMS working exactly as it should showing the tyre pressure and the temperature 👍
The (insitu) comment I meant if I take the tank off,can I tap the ABS Module without taking it off the bike, a bit like tapping the starter motor (back in the day) 😉
Cheers Baza 👍

if the ABS is behaving - leave till it plays up
if its throwing the pump error codes (not sure why but he went and changed the motoscan tool, till it lists code info that is somewhat different - used to show the the two you find all over the internet - give it a whack - you can see it just through a gap - it sits behind the alternator at the back of the engine over the gearbox

ABS malfunction for BMW R1200GS. When using scan tools fault codes are often found including 5DF1 – ABS ECU Failure and 5DF0 – ABS Pump Motor Failure. These faults, and others, can be rectified

TPMS Mine blanks both pressure readings if one sensor plays up - and the amber caution irritates the hell out of u (and loses the low fuel warning as the stupid thing is on all the time...)

Cheers again mate,ABS is next weeks job, just off to BnQ for a lump hammer 🤦‍♂️🤣
TPMS works fine on mine but only on the front wheel, but ones better than none, so they say 😉

Houston we have lift off,,,,,ESA all calibrated and working a treat,as is the ABS,not to sure how,but I went for another ride earlier came home and plugged the Motoscan in,and thought I’d just try it again, absolutely perfect 👍
So thanks again to all your replies peeps, here’s to the next time 👍😉
