Quest maps

Hi there -

just received my quest from a fellow GSer and getting to know it a bit - a quick question - it seems I have City select Europe V6 & V7 discs - is there a major difference between them ??

probably a mundane question to you guys .....

Also as it q a portable unit I intend to use in Capetown next month in the hire car - can anyone tell me how to get maps for Southern africa ??

I have the unit ser No and unlock codes / registration cert etc - can I get from Garmin or is this an expensive option ??

Check out Garmin's website for the latest hardware / software. Generally you'll want to be running the latest mapping software so out of the two you've got you should use V7. Be aware that City Select has been effectively superceded by City Navigator. V9 is the latest version.

Don't get any software with the letters NT in the title because they won't work on a Quest.

As for maps for South Africa check Garmin to see if its worth your while. If you're only there for a short time then it may prove a bit pricey.
