hello all quick question on the quest. does it go down to minor roads in uk and when you load france into it how small a road does it cover. whould the quest get us down through france and show tracks in alps (stelle alpina) ect.want to get one this week to practice . cheers;)

Yes to all the above.....

The map detail needs to be loaded into the unit to cover the area you intend to travel and then it is down to the smallest roads and tracks that you are likely to ever drive on ....BUT....only if you have the unlock codes for the software and aren't using a US model base map in which case you may have some problems.

Just got mine from mnc group at 339.

I got a neo 6r at the same time so i told them i wasn't paying delivery.

:D

Yes, agree with Les Wassall and don't bother with the extra for next day delivery, as mine came next day on the std free del.

thanks all . have ordered one from gpsw.co with bar mount. should be here tomorrow then all i've got to do is work out how to use it!

Well done, rtm and it'll work ok.

I read this here sometime in the past.

But don't use a GPS to do a journey you already know well, as you could be surprised by the route it takes....

Try and make a route to somewhere you've never been when testing it.

In testing I found my quest had enough memory to fit a 'corridor' of maps from scotland to the south coast, through France to the alps, and then a large blob covering all the alpine areas i want to visit later this year.....

I've just checked and my route from Nottingham to Slovinia uses 114mb of the 256mb memory in the Quest :)

43mb generous corridor from edinburgh -> folkestone
50mb generous corridor across france
90mb for a huge blob round the alps area

183mb
