My standart GS tank now is not big enough for my trips :)
Next weekend I want to change it for bigger one, from Adventure.

Adventure tank has 2 metal pipes on the each side, on the bottom.
What do I need them for? And how can I connect them to standart GS?

Thanks!!! :bounce1

I think they connect the two lobes of the tank to equalise the volume in each side. could be completely wrong :)

Don't forget to get Quick Release couplings on all your fuel pipes. Will make life so much easier for you.
Look at the set up on an Adventure for positioning etc

I fitted an Adventure tank to my GS a while ago.

You can use your existing fuel cap assembly & the fuel level sender/fuel pump etc but the fuel guage will be a bit inaccurate & the low fuel light will come on a bit early. I used my old GS stuff & bent a slight radius in to the float arm to delay the low fuel light. Worked well, comes on with 4.75 to 5 litres left.

Drill out you filler neck - 1 x 6mm hole is enough, allows an additional 2 litres to be squeezed in.

Quick disconnect fuel couplings are a must, despite the cost. Don't buy the BMW fuel hose as it's £20 for 18" :eek . I bought a metre of reinforced fuel line suitable for fuel injection from a car accessory shop for a few ££, cut it to length & fitted the quick fuel disconnects.

Fit the two quick disconnects in opposite directions i.e. one line with the male coupling on the tank side, other line with the female coupling on the tank side. This prevents you from connecting them the wrong way round.

Thanks everybody!!! :thumb

What is this "Quick Release couplings"?
How do they look and where can I buy them?

And what about these two steel pipes?
How do they suppose to be connected properly with each other?
And how should pipe be positioned under the tank?

May be somebody has a picture from repair manual?

Or if it's possible could you make a photo from your bike? :bounce1

:dance

Thanks again!!!
