BMW's own male sections of QD connector are metal, and have been for a couple of years.

It was only the male section on the older plastic design that broke. And that was due to lack of maintenance by owners by non greasing/lubing of the sections.

I really had shit service from these folk, one of the couplings came apart and they wanted me to pay $60 for an O ring.

I have the cheap plastic type installed , and keep a supply of spare O rings handy at all times when disconnecting/reconecting

Got a response...placed an order...all's good

and received today complete with spare o-rings

nice having some shiny things to play with at work
