R100 gs, re-build "slow"

Just replaced all the bearing in the rear drive housing and refitted the drive. while the forks are away for powder coat I've started to get the loom back on.


Not sure if the bike will be ready for this summer, can't find enough time to work on her.

I think I'll need a new wiring harness...the one on my g/s looks like a birds nest...electrical stuff I ain't great at !!

Slow doesn't matter that much, 'right' is more important and that looks like it will be.

(Don't you think that the Two-Valve Boxer engine has some very aesthetically pleasing aspects to it when you see it out of the frame?)

Thanks guys, Rob , need to make a trip over to you some time soon to take dimensions off your fuel tank (R100 GS PD) if the offer still stands, my parts will be going in for paint soon.

As long as it doesn't corrode more during the rebuild, than it did when mobile

Looks a real challenge - but one worth taking up - just don't let the dog in the garage with so many small bolts and fasteners around !

A bit late now as you've already had the frame powder coated but did you consider strengthening the frame with fillets and extra tubes especially in the subframe, or didn't you consider it worthwhile and preferred to keep it standard anyway?

Yes Paul, I did think about this but wanted to keep the bike standard
