r100gs info

hi all

i would like to know if the r100r mystic gear box and bevel box is the same as the r100gs? Would fitting the mystic g box and bevel box give it better road / touring use.

the reason i ask is that i never ride my r100gs off road and would like to set it up for total road use / touring using.

Same gearbox..................... but it is possible to fit a higher ratio 5th gear

The bevel box is the same too. I picked a spare up from a R100R on Ebay and it's identical to that from a r100gs.

i thought the gs was geared for off road / road use and the r100r as geared for just road use

The ratio is the same on GS and R as far as I know. My GS has the same ratio stamped on as the R100R one I picked up as a spare. The 'off road' thing is more cosmetic than anything else.
