I know I know its not a mud plugger but its a start.

Not far to go now and the clean-up is finished and out on the road she'll go.

But before I go any further I'm on the scrounge for a pin, It's the pin that goes through the rear master cyclinder lever with the washer and c-clip either side of the rubber boot.

If all else fails I can use a bolt but would prefer the correct pin, their not advertised as procurable because they want to sell the complete master cyclinder for £80 which includes the pin.

The pin is about 30 mm long by 6 mm diameter with a C-clip recess either end.

The original pin was totally seized so had to be drilled out.

He's only got CNC capability.

I think a 6 mm dia by 35mm length with a 27 mm set bolt should do it.

If not I'll see if I can get one made locally.

Unfortunately my lathe is packed away during our house renovation nightmare or I'd have made you one. Anyone with a lathe should be able to help. However you'd still have to find some circlips.

I reckon you could make one of these if you had the right diameter material, a pillar drill and a hacksaw blade, proper engineering

I have a lathe, a stock of round stainless bar and boxes of assorted circlips and 'e' clips.

Right now I'm up to my eyes in work - getting my No. 1 daughter's new (to her) house ready so that she can be persuaded to vacate the family home ( ).

It will be a couple of weeks before I can get back to doing 'my' jobs . I'm not a very experienced turner (yet) so it will probably take me a while to sort myself out.

BUT My friend the magpie reckons he,s got a shouldered pin with a cotter pin fixing the other end that does the same job.

Well done finding the part - I had the same problem on my F800. BM want to sell the complete master cylinder there too! Fortunately, I managed to get one from the dealer under protest - good lot North Oxford BM !
Good luck with the RS it will be worth the hassle when she's on the road mine's an 81 /7 and I just love her.
