Hmm..bike has jus clicked 70'000 miles n for the past 500 or so miles it's got a surge going on about 70mph =4000rpm it's like it's not getting enough petrol drop below 70/4k slighty and it's ok ..fuel filter ??as far as I know its never been replaced ..Ive never been in the tank all the while I've owned it..got the filter and the rest of the gubbins from Motorworks..jus wondered why it's all of a sudden started doing it ..

The throttle bodies could need balancing.

The tank liner peels off - maybe that's blocking things? Could be internal hoses splitting and your fuel pressure is dropping. Either way, a change of filter and inspection of the tank and hoses is a good idea at 70K.

Had similar problem.lacking power tank linning came of blocking pump filter.tank cleaned resealed back to normal

I just cleaned my tank a couple of years back taking out all the big sheets of liner, did not bother resealing and has been fine since...

I had similar when the little (stupidly priced!!!) u shaped pipe split on the fuel filter assembly.

Same symptoms on the twin spark when a coil pack was breaking down.

Did you get the big O ring for the Fuel pump flange??

Oh and Clean all the wee bolt heads with dremel wire brush thing but seal ALL your pipes in case of sparks etc etc

If you don;t shine up the threads the studs may break off !!

Also soak them in something like Silkopen from Fuchs its a Graphite rich penetrating oil, Local farm supplies stores may have a cheaper one :rob

AS usual preparation is the name of the game You need a 1/4 tank of fuel maximum or it will pish out when you undo the flange

An old car tyre is a great thing to set the tank into, to keep it balanced

If you need extra info send me a pm

at 70K not changed ? Could be tank lining could be a split in the internal rubber fuel hose

Yeah had read the U hose fails n causes lack of pressure ...tank as far as I know has never been opened..yep new U bend filter, big O ring n.hose clamps..not got quick connects so will use hose clamps that you use for car brake hoses..should suffice..
