I have an odd problem with my R1100GS.
Tried to start it this morning and it starts no problem at all it will then run for a few seconds and then dies, revving it makes it die quicker, so I am making an assumption that its a fuel problem.
It was running fine last night and the bike was left out and it rained, dont know if thats an issue. When I switch the ignition on you can hear the fuel pump start up.
Havent had a chance to have a good look yet but wondered if the fuel pump starts up and sends a small amount of fuel down the line and thats what allows the bike to start but then no more is being sent, trouble is that I don't have to switch ignition off and on again, simply hit the starter button and it starts, so I am not sure how that could be the case ??
The battery is fine, the petrol is low because I ran it down to get the plate of the inside of the tank, but there should be sufficient fuel in the tank, and I had a liter spare in a fuel can and put that in as well.
I did have the tank off yesterday and replaced hose clips on the overflow/vent pipes but I started it up after I had finished and it ran fine. So I am inclined to think it is an electrical fault rather than a mechanical one but I am stumped for idea's so anything anyone can suggest will be gratefully received and investigated.
The bike is standard R1100GS with standard fuel injection fitted, no aftermarket controllers etc, standard fuel pump and filter, I do have two QD hose connectors on the fuel lines, and it has an aftermarket Remus exhaust system, no exhaust sensor either on the original system or replacement.
