R1150 new owner

My two 1150s have engaged first gear best from neutral if you pull the clutch in at the same moment you prod down on the gear lever. If I pull the clutch in and then try to prod down into first then fairly often it doesn't want to go in.

As far as I know - it's normal but took a bit of getting used to. I've learned to automatically engage first as per the above and it goes in 100%.

What he said. If it won't go in first prod, let the clutch out, pull it straight in again at the same time as toeing the gear lever. "They all do that sir"! :thumby:

Matt... Don't worry, they all do that..

I've owned 3 x 1150's of various mileages...

Every one has needed the clutch lever let slightly out as you engage 1st gear from standstill..1150's all have idiosyncrasies like the horrible "thud" when you do engage 1st at the lights and every fecker looks at you:thumb

It is a tractor gearbox compared to my old GSXR, but I love it.

Dave.
