I didn't find this answered elsewhere, specifically and hope there exists such a thing as a "quick" answer ;), but the only obvious place I can espy for the main unit is by sacrificing the tool roll and mounting the Pro-7 in the void normally occupied by it.

Is there a better spot which would leave the tool roll in situ?

Also, there's a warning in the destructions about splicing into the brake-light feed on certain ABS and brake-warning-system equipped bikes; is the GS/A one of them and if so, what's the next best feed?

I rigged it up "dry" last night with my Alan 456R transceivers and discovered the PTT and power feed supplied by the dealer don't work (they're the ones intended primarily for the Icom FS22, parts 136 and 107, respectively).

Anyone else using this combination (these transceivers, Pro-7 and PTT) that got it all to work? It'll work on VOX, but it's using the VOX feature of the transceivers rather than doing it via the Pro-7.

Cheers,

Rik.

Mmm, yeah, saw that, ta Den. Dunno if there's enough space in the fusebox, though, wot with there being one of Mr.Farmer's superb Motoswitches lurking in there, too...

Still got a major headache with the Alan transceivers, anyway; may have to fork out yet more dosh on Kenwood's or Icom's...

:(

On my GSA the pro 7 and Kenwood are mounted within plastic bags and sit behing the battery sideways under the HUGE void that is the front of the seat. The aerial which is flexible is taped along the RHS of the tank when I need to be out talking to people. Believe me - there's loads of room

there is plenty of room to just velcro the pro 7 on the top of the air filter housing. as for your raidio i have a little 2m band jobbie that does the same, it doesn't seem to like 2 sets of vox working but won't work with the radios vox switched off.
i use my spare alinco radio.
i know it doesn't solve your problem but some people feel happier knowing they are not alone :)

Velcro the unit on the airbox lid
DO NOT take your power supply off the brake light switch on bikes equipped with servo brakes, it buggers up the abs.Possible take offs are rear tail light (grey/white) or solid green in fuse box

Many Thanks...

...to Mark, Deefa and Leigh for the assistance; much appreciated with two days of work (boo!) + one prep day remaining before our summer jaunt to Espana, I'm a little less worried about at least one issue.

Now on the 'phone to Paul at Autocom about the transceiver problem.

I really hope I don't have to lash out another £250 for new transceivers...

Rik.
