R1150GS Cut out

Check the ignition key switch wiring. I’ve had 2 times wires degrading and coming loose causing shut downs in undesireable curcumstances!

I had the symptom of hard-to-start engine. After examining many many parts (all of the above and more), re-checked and replaced some, what resolved the issue was a erratic ECU. Got it replaced and it starts as it should be. If you have, like me have gone through vigorous checks on common culprits, see if you can borrow a working ECU, test it out and see if it can resolve the starting issue.

I think you should return it to Standard wiring ! Because it ain;t working now!
Thank you for your help and advice with my HES issue. I have reconnected the side stand switch and fitted a replacement HES, which is showing a green light on my HES tester, all good. I am putting the everything back together but I have a mystery part/washer which I am not sure where it goes! Feeling a bit stupid, I have checked the parts diagrams of the areas I have worked on (fuel tank removed, HES replaced, side stand switch removed) but can't identify this part. I had thought it was part of the side stand assembly but it doesn't seem to fit there. Any help in recognising this part would be much appreciated. Cheers.DSCF9320.JPGDSCF9321.JPG

Is that green grid it is sitting on 1 cm squares?

Its not something I can recall seeing on an 1150 or 1100 to honest

Come on tell us can’’t leave us on tender hooks!.

That part looks like a valve stem cap, or whatever they’re called, to keep the valve springs in compression.
