Rock Oil

I've been using Rock Oil Guardian 20W-20 Semi-synthetic for a long time now and find it really seems to suit the GS.
It's not easy to find a 20w-50 oil nowadays that's a decent quality/spec - I know it's only a "basic" boxer engine, but if it's going to haul you around Europe etc 2-up with luggage with 6000 miles between changes I think it needs/deserves better than some classic oil for your grandads Singer Gazelle or similar?

Money talks

Vehicle manufactures recommend the oil company that pays them to do so!
Funny how the talk of not mixing oil brands vanished with the coming of the trade descriptions act

If it meets the spec, it meets the spec.

After 4 changes of Denicol oil (20-50) I have to admit that this is the best I've found for the 1150, since the first time I used those oils I have never needed to add any oil to the engine, I change the oil every 5000 Km's.
Castrol is the oil the official dealers use (in Greece, dunno about the rest of Europe), but to my experience (first service when I bought it) they require close monitoring and refilling.
