I haven't spent much time on the site recently but that doesn't mean I have'nt been enjoying my GS ownership. Sadly on Monday that ownership was cut short by a bike theif or theifs.

My 2002 non ABS R1150GS was stolen from Forth Street, Edinburgh, EH1 sometime between midday and 4.45pm. The bike had 40,00 miles on the clock but it was in excellent condition. Keep your eyes peeled. Reg number is GJ03 WZA.

Thanks.

Have you tried scouting around Silverknowes? I was nearly killed by a little twat on a (probably) stolen 125 road bike the other week - he was riding on the footpath without a helmet or a care in the world  And I have seen recent donut tyre tracks on the prom between Granton & Crammond.

I'll keep my eyes peeled for your bike in sunny Leith.

Excuse my ignorance but how do modern bikes get stolen short of being put in the back of a van. I don't mean pissy 125s but big gs bikes surely must have immobiliser built in that make the joy riding the if redundant.....no ??

It was a 2002 GS, not a modern bike.

I should have said although it's apparent in the pictures that it was a R1150GS Adventure. ( Dont want to do the old girl down)

they get lifted into vans - they need locking "to something" solid, but even then they are at risk, bot a bike locked too something would deter most.
