R1150GS ... they still have "it", don't they?

My mate has just bought one today on a W plate. 38k new clutch, fuel pump, brake callipers overhauled and numerous bearings and seals replaced over the last couple of years. We know the guy who’s done the work and he’s had it just over 20yrs. It’s a very clean bike, with luggage £2.5k

My black GSA in post #157 had its Servo ABS removed last year
Aug 2004 build and 67k
So the Servo ABS lasted 19 years and 67000 miles
It was working perfectly at the time and had never malfunctioned
I just didn’t trust it and didn’t like how the Servo ABS worked in operation from the day I bought a new 1150 GS in 2004, kept it 4 Months and put it up for sale in later September of that year, back at the dealership and ordered my Silver 1150 GSA (sans ABS) for delivery in April 2005 and still have that bike

It’s superb

I de servo'ed my 1150Rt and liked it better. It did start to show signs of problems but without the severe brake failure somewhere... The non ABS set up of yours and others has a ton of feel and control anyway... It's just a surprise to see a 100k+ miles bike with it still working after all the issues...

There's a blue and white 1150 GS that appears on all the grand tours plus some of the Spring Classics (Cycling). I'd love to know its history (one owner?) mileage etc

Next job is to wire in the Antigravity Battery Jump Start Pack battery wire ( when it arrives this afternoon ) so I can start it if I manage to flatten the battery somehow. :nenau
Then remove the LED front spotlights & bar and put the much neater HID close fitting spotlights on instead.
Polish the rear wheel.
Oh, and a switch for the top box power lead. :D I’ll have to remove the infill panel ( pain in the arse ) to do the wiring. The switch is going where I scratched the paint. :blast image.jpgimage.jpgimage.jpg

tell us (me) more about the infill panel please. looks tidy are they still available?

Nope. A very nice chap on here ( Mike O ) used to get them made but that stopped a while ago unfortunately. I may take mine off and send it to a chap I know who does excellent 3D printing to see if he can make them.
You may be extremely lucky and find one on here second hand but they very rarely come up for sale. I would like another one to save me taking mine off to see if they can be duplicated. Not happened for yonks though. :blast

@Udders If you do take it off and go down the three D print route I would definitely be interested in buying one...

:)
Strange this should come up at this time. I just painted and fitted mine this week - it needed some minor trimming to fit with the winglets I have but I am pleased with the result. IMG_4669.jpegIMG_4668.jpeg

I feel like a little group (re) production could be in order here...

see if some one would make a batch and cost it out.. I'm sure they would sell... 2 customers already as the open space in the front of my GS does irritate me a little.
