Thanks Johnny you’ve made up my mind for me, I was going to fit QD’s to my newly acquired 1100gs but I will now stick with the fixed lines and a couple of simple hose clamps in the tool roll, far less to go wrong. Enjoy the rest of the trip on that beaut 👍
 
Don't be afraid of the mileage.

I recall years ago Ride magazine got Vines in Guildford to strip and inspect a 100,000 mile boxer and all they found was some slight scuffing to a cam lobe. The article said it could be reassembled and do the same mileage again no worry.

Absolutely nothing wrong with good quality quick disconnects!
They actually make life a LOT easier. You don’t need to empty the tank to remove it.
Put a smear of the correct grease on the seal every time you uncouple and they’ll last for years.
Plus, how much room does a couple of spare new seals take up?
