This afternoon I pulled the starter out and followed MikeP instructions, thanks RIP mate
Internals all in good condition, just carbon dust everywhere.
Cleaned, re-grease and assembled, started the bike a few times and sounds normal now.
From cold started by just a press of the button no throttle, unlike all last week needed a handful and a few goes to start.
