Has anyone got a link or instructions on how to key the lock to my ignition key please for the aluminium Gsa pannier / top box.

Regards

Mark

You need to insert the original key into the lock. Then find the hole near the base of the lock barrel to insert a screwdriver to depress the locking tab. You should then be able to withdraw the lock barrel and key complete.

The key is different and the tabs are different, but the principle is exactly the same of rekeying as in this video.

Good luck

It looks scary but it is really straight forward once you get over all of the tabs falling everywhere! The trick is to use as many tabs as possible but if you can't so be it!

Thank you guys, when I looked at the lock last night I couldn't see the locking tab to press to allow the barrel to come out. I'll try again later with my glasses on.

Thanks for the video link

You won't see the locking tab, it's hidden inside the lock mechanism. You are looking for a small hole in the lock assembly roughly in the position the locking tab would sit. Inserting a small screwdriver or piece of wire into the hole will depress the locking tab into the barrel, thereby allowing the barrel to be withdrawn from the lock mechanism.

Well this is my life story looking for a little hole. I can't see a hole anywhere on the aluminium top box to release the lock from the barrel.

I have system panniers and can see the hole clearly for those locks but not on the aluminium top box lock.

anyone who's done it give me clue please or maybe a picture!

Thanks guys

2 minute job once you get the hang of it........ look at the back of the lock as you've lifted it up if you know what I mean... there's a flat spring loaded plate , a small screw driver to push it in.... then twist and lift out the barrel using the key.... and don't take the key out until you've got your glasses on, and you've spread some white paper on the table , as there is a spring behind each leaf .. the leaves will drop out and the springs will exit due to kilo tonnes of kinetic energy built up from years of compression .... never to be seen again :thumb2
