Im planning a european tour for later this year and would like to fit a more comfy seat to my R1150GSA.
Whats everyones recommendations?
What have you got fitted? Pics would be much appreciated.

Sargent (normal height) is the best I've tried, had a Corbin and it was too hard and too low (peg to bum = sore knees)

V Happy with the Sargent though

Corbin

Sargent

If your arse is exactly the same width and weight as JB's, and you are the same height, have the same arm length, leg length suspension setup, back length and precisely the same aches and pains as he does, you might find that his choice of seat will suit you perfectly.

In short, every seat is different for every individual........you may find that a pair of bar risers transforms your comfort, you may find that a sheepskin does the same, or a Tony Archer re-cover is perfect for you, or a Corbin is great but a Sargeant is impossibly uncomfortable.

All you'll get by asking that question is a load of replies from people who have, maybe, found what suits THEM.

The ONLY way of finding out what suits YOU is to try some out, unfortunately

PS you have NOTHING to lose from trying the simple, cheap things first........bar risers change the whole way your body, spine, coccyx and everything else relates to the bike, and you can buy them for 30 quid and sell them for 30 quid.

PS Sorry, not trying to be negative, just realistic :)

Pretty bang on:thumb2 I now have J.B's corbin seat and it's fantastic fit for me... It's a bit tall in the leg for me but i'm used to a tall bike, as i'm a short ass:D

I have to say an AirHawk is the way to go for me. Can move it from one bike to another and it folds up small when not required - even makes a nice pillow when camping...

+1 for Airhawk for all the above. I had gel inserts fitted by Tony Archer which were an improvement over standard, but the Airhawks made a world of difference for me and the better half on my non adv 1150GS

livin' the dream

Next on my list is sorting my seats out - bought my 1150 with 72K on the clock and my seat is squashed flat with use whereas my wife finds the pillion fine... So going to have both seats recovered and mine with fresh padding / foam. I also have a heated pad thing to put under my new cover and am really looking forward to that. I demo'd a R1200RT with heated seats and wow... loved it...

I'll post up results etc when done, still looking for a place local to do it.

The options are new seat - corbin etc. or rebuild what's there and I'm going with what's going to be a lot cheaper and have new covers and new padding. 93K and counting...

Just to prove Fanum right, I've tried an Airhawk and found it a complete waste of time.

Never found any seat more comfortable than the standard GSA gel seat.

Time in the saddle is the cheap option, after long enough they all feel the same.
Bit like women in the dark then !!

All sound advice, i currently have 25mm up and back risers and also sw motech lowered pegs.
The comfort i'm after is a little more padding for me, and also my girlfriend as the pillion part of a GSA is friendly to her boney arse apparently. I may try an airhawk or something similar.

I had issues with my tail bone. I tried the easy stuff, bar risers and lowered pegs but my Corbin sorted it - bliss.

I still say Sargent is the best I've tried and if you're shorter legged, go Corbin

Great seats:thumby:
