Strange question, looking at changing up bikes and fancy a 1150gsa / 1200gsa.

I've sat and seen alot of the 1200's, however no dealers have any of the 1150's.

Anyone around got a 1150gsa I could look at / have a sit on? To compare to the 1200's I live near selby and free this weekend friday afternoon till tuesday.

The 1200 was fine for weight / height for me, just want to check how much different the 1150 is... as I do prefer the 1150.

Will buy a buttie and cup o' tea as thanks. :beerjug:

Go with J.B. 1150 is a gem of a bike, rugged, better looking, and solid.:beerjug:

Sort it, going on sunday to see them. :thumb2

Just had a chat on the phone to JB, we were talking about the 1150gsa that Allan jefferies have in, he said if he recalled correctly, the Black one they currently have in (If it was the one he saw a few weeks back) was abit of a shed.

Was it anyone's bike or has anyone else seen it? Going to have a look tomorrow, but some other inputs would be great. Don't fancy a shed. :blast

It's a 54 plate black/yellow with 18,200 miles on, reg NC54FYN.

Anymore inputs would be great. :thumb2

Just look at usual corrosion areas like forkbrace/fork lowers/front cover/downpipes/rear hub/barrel fins

Check for a FSH/decent tyres etc and as an approved used bike, you'll get a BMW AUB warranty

Other than that it looks ok from the pics

I had a good look at the black Adventure in Jeffries, last Friday, at first glances it looks quite nice, no dents or scratches.

It has quite bad corrosion on the lower fork legs, and the front engine cover looks a bit rough. It comes with the system panniers, which have a few light scrapes on them. It looks like it's hard quite a hard life, and hasn't been cleaned much, but mechanically it will probably be good, and you'll get a BMW warranty with it.

There are nicer ones out there, but it you're not bothered about cosmetic appearance, it would be a good buy.

Hope this helps, and good look with your purchase,

Cheers

Andy

I found the the system panniers excellent. You can get plenty in them and the are really easy to remove, to take into your hotel, pension, camp site when you arrive at your destination. They are very cleverly designed so that when removed, there is not unsightly large framework left on the bike. I also think they look good, and match the Black 1150 Adventure.

They are also very tough, I dropped my old 1100 at standstill on a trip to Spain fully loaded, and it hardly marked them.

To make them even better, buy a set of Glodal Lids, which increases the capacity even more.

I'm sure Vern's are top notch panniers, it's just I prefer the ease of removal, and no framework left on the bike.....just my opinion :thumb

+1 both my bikes have these, whilst the metal 1150GSA panniers sit on the shelf in the garage:D

Thanks for the inputs, I don't mind about the panniers been abit scuffed, but heavy corrosion will definatly put me off for the price they want.

Will have a specific poke round the area's JB suggested and also andy. See what I think.

Going to have a look now, thanks again.
