As one of the newest members to this board I thought it would be polite to introduce myself! My name is Nick Corbin & I live in Grantham, Lincolnshire (well, somebody has to..) I have just chopped in my one year old RT for a new GS. The RT was very good but suffered the common surging problem and, quite frankly, was not providing the excitement that I needed. One test ride on the GS was enough. I was hooked. I could not believe how well the GS handled or performed in comparison to the RT. In fact, it made the RT feel like a road going oil tanker! Found this board after talking to Peter at Motobins - they supplied Hepco & Becker rack and topbox for my new toy. I like what I have read so far and look forward to picking up advice from those more experienced! Best wishes fellow GSers :)

Bikerpig, your misson is to find out what happened to 'Dave', you may want to change your name.:D

Hi Nick, I come from Grantham originally, I moved 2 years ago and believe it or not I still miss the place.

It's a fine place to live don't let any one knock it.

Dave

I was born in Grantham. Lived a few miles outside the town and was educated there until I left for Liverpool at the tender age of 19 (in the seventies)!

So that's 3 of us...

Can't say I miss it tho'.

What School did you go to Giles?

Originally I lived in Great Gonerby 3 miles north of Grantham

Hi Dave

As far as I recall... Harrowby Infants, The National and King's. Long time ago!

Lived (amongst other places) Old Somerby and Oasby.

Now living on the west of the country - wetter and warmer!

In reply to Scurrell,

As far as I know I'm not related to those seat manufacturing Corbins, but I could be. If I ever decide to upgrade the saddles on the GS I could chance my arm for a namesake discount. That said, I gather from posts on another bulletin board that Corbin Saddles are in a spot of financial bother at the moment, so perhaps I won't bother! :D
