R12 G/S Enduro

Quick question , what is the difference with the rally seat ? Cheers
Rally seat is taller makes it feel like your sat on it rather than in it
Also gives a better ride quality due to more padding so more comfortable
I will be keeping the rally seat on

I have not ridden a bike with the older 1200 motor for a while and had forgotten just what a little gem this motor is
Smooth with lots of character and plenty fast enough in this sort of bike
To me this has gotta be one of the best looking bikes BMW have made for a very long time
:D

I rarely visit motorrad dealers these days but dropped into my "local" yesterday for a coffee and a mooch. I have to agree with you: the bike is an absolute stunner! A very expensive stunner for me but very nice indeed.

I don’t know if you fellas are aware but the 2026 GS Trophy trials in Romania will be on the R12 G/S not the r1300gs.

Not Surprised from the play i had on some fairly easy trail the bike was a lot more capable than i thought it would be
And due to the low COG it's weight was not that noticeable ..Infact it felt more chuckable than my 700 tenere
Here's a nice pic of the Tenere in Spain a few weeks ago Tenere.jpg:)

I wonder whether BMW will do any offers on the 12 G/S seeing as it’s apparently been a poor seller and winter is coming ?

What makes you say that ?
Isn’t there a waiting list & no unsold dealer stock I believe

A few comments online .

Motobob isn’t one for bullshit so…..
Ok
Will do
I bet all bike manufacturers will be doing deals over a long, cold winter …..as sales are sluggish all of 2025

EDIT - just watched it and you’re right, only 500 units sold - maybe it’s just too expensive with a RRP of £15000-£16000

Was it not 500 in Germany ?

They only sold 764 Lamborghini Miuras because they were a bit expensive too. 😄

Not many HP2s either.

The R12 G/S is pure class.

Maybe all the talk of them not being a long distance bike puts a few off but that's a mindset thing.
Personally, I prefer to travel light and enjoy the back roads. It's a much more agile machine than a GS.

I don't think they have done a great job of marketing it either. Go on the configurator and it offers you no luggage yet its available. Although of course you can get it travel ready for a lot less than bmw accessory prices.

TMF priced up the demo he took out and it was over £19k. Which frankly is bloody ridiculous, but I guess won’t bother some who merely rent their bikes on PCP.

Not just a go at the manufacturer, but at a particular model and now the old PCP bollocks.

Must be the camaraderie keeps him on a GS forum.

PCP is rife across cars and bikes and the sales figures have nowt to do with the method of purchase - GS/GSA and everything else can be bought this way, so it boils down to something else. If of course the figures quoted have any credibility, which is also bollocks no doubt.

It might end up like the HP2's and the XC650's where they were slow to sell and viewed as over priced but then became sought after

Or it might be they look, feel and ride like a Japanese copy of a retro enduro, albeit a very expensive copy.

It must have had a lot of unnecessary additions. List price on mine was under 17k as I recall.
But how much is a loaded GS now, or a Ducati?
I did test ride a V85 but in the end decided the G/S was worth the extra.

And the fact that there are some lovely people on here, amongst the few cùnts, like you 😜
Some of us actually meet off site . You should try it rather than just pop in here from time to time to stir the shit .
Oh, and I have a GS in the garage so shove yer PCP up yer fat arse. 😘
I simply posted the above as was surprised that Motobob said the 12 G/S was a slow seller as it’s certainly gone down well on here.
It’s also the only current BMW on sale that I’d consider , though I think it’s over-priced.
