R12 G/S Enduro

It must have had a lot of unnecessary additions. List price on mine was under 17k as I recall.
But how much is a loaded GS now, or a Ducati?
I did test ride a V85 but in the end decided the G/S was worth the extra.
It was the beige and red jobby with a few Option 719 bits thrown at it plus the pack with heated grips etc , whatever that is .
But, as you say, it’s not just the BMW that is expensive . A base Multi V2 is £14500 but go for a V2S with luggage and it starts at over £18k FFS.Add another £5k+ for a V4.
It’s a bit mad really.

Play nice chaps
:)

I've bought the R12 G/S and as posted here I am very happy with it

I paid a lot less than some of the figures quoted here and I'm not really concerned as to BMW sales figures
Craigholt doesn’t know the meaning of play nice.Best put on ‘ignore’.

Meanwhile, I wonder if Motobob meant that the 12 G/S had been a slow seller in Germany as, judging by the cross section on here that have bought one, it seems to be well received in the UK.

That was how I interpreted it , as per my reply to JB's 500 sold comment , the report was from a German magazine and relates to German sales figures

And the fact that there are some lovely people on here, amongst the few cùnts, like you 😜
Some of us actually meet off site . You should try it rather than just pop in here from time to time to stir the shit .
Oh, and I have a GS in the garage so shove yer PCP up yer fat arse. 😘
I simply posted the above as was surprised that Motobob said the 12 G/S was a slow seller as it’s certainly gone down well on here.
It’s also the only current BMW on sale that I’d consider , though I think it’s over-priced.

I said that - camaraderie. Good for you.

You do troll BMW though, amongst other shite, but it helps with you on ignore. I just like to sneak a peak every now and again to see if you are remaining true to form. I was right, sadly.

You do your brand trolling, I'll pop on from time to time to do what the fuck I want. All good.

TMF priced up the demo he took out and it was over £19k. Which frankly is bloody ridiculous, but I guess won’t bother some who merely rent their bikes on PCP.
I was meaning the base bike at just under £15k

The dealer’s bike I test rode with everything on it was well over £19k too and for that it’s too much

I managed to get a deal on mine. Less then £15k with the Enduro pack, quick shifter and the Rallye fairing… Didn’t bother with the comfort pack…
That could be because I’m good friends with someone who works there though…😉

Any comments on the Akra slip on exhaust?

Winter is setting in, time to spend money on mods I don’t really need :)

Just removed the petrol tank to get access to the battery and the OEM wiring harness plug for fitting auxiliary LED lights

It's quite a job and I was glad my friendly BMW Dealer had printed off the instructions from their online system

It a real pain that they no longer make the workshops manuals available to the public :-(

I've bought the genuine brackets but I'm not using genuine lights or the switch as they wanted nearly £800 for the kit (£400 just for the repacement LH switchgear with the extra button on it)

I'll post some further pictures once all done

What makes the tank removal more difficult than a 11/1150 GS?
More wires and brackets ?
Curious

The fuel line , breather hoses and electrics are all attached to the underside of the tank . You have to remove six screws to initially releae the tank so it can be pivoted up at 45 degrees to get access to remove the lines from their retaining brackets . You can then disconnect the quick release on the fuel line and pivot the tank to 90 degrees to then remove the breather hoses and electrical connection . Once this has been done you can sit the tank back down flat and remove the two rear pivot bolts and the tank can be removed from it's seven rubber buffers that it sits on . A bit more involved than an 1100/1150 tank !

JFC!
That’s so they can charge you an extra 2 hours labour to do anything like that! :blast

You should have taken to A Bike Thing for special wankblindery !
They might have done it labour -free if using your bike as a test bed for future 12 G/Ss.

They haven’t improved the design from the RnineT then

For your delight, the R12 G/S on the Pamir Highway and Wakhan Valley.
