Hi - just fitted a Remus can to my 2017 R1200GS and no matter what I do there is a small gas leak at the bottom of the joint. Tried re-fitting it umpteen times but still apparent - even stripped a clamp by trying to (over) tighten it. Am I being OCD or is a small leak normal/acceptable? The fit is pretty good but not as tight as the original can - but tight enough to preclude the use of sealant.

Why dont u go to halfords and purchase some exhaust joint paste.

It should be a tight fit and not leak. As it's not genuine BMW the tolerance might be out.

Hmmmm, I have the same on my Akarapovic, only notice when I wash the bike. I assumed it was maybe a small drain hole at the lowest point of the system, as when I move it back into the garage, there is always a pool of water under the exhaust. There is no obvious sound from the leak, so have just left well alone.
Cheers
Dave

Thanks - on the plus side it also lets the initial starting condensation out. My last GS (2011) had the same thing - stock exhaust and I never touched it. Even passed the MoT. Maybe it is normal. As the Remus is basically a straight through pipe, I'm thinking a small leak after the flapper valve won't matter?

My 1250 does this too.
