R1200 GS Servicing Costs Query

Those prices look about right. Over the last couple of years at NOG 6k £166 inc ACF50 treatment, 12k £239 inc some other bits and pieces. The last 24k service I had was just over 2 years ago on an RT which was £290 (but obviously more bodywork to deal with).

Yeah - I was hoping nearer £350 rather than the £420 the chap mentioned on Friday. Mind you, Matt was on holiday this week so I'll get the confirmed price Monday.

For info, last few services for mine:
Aug '09 6k £200
Feb '10 12k £250 (inc AC50 valet)
May '10 18k £244 (inc brake fluid change)

IIRC my last service at NOG which was the 24k came to £370ish though there were a couple of jobs I requested that they didn't do one of which was brake fluid which saved me about £60

I run two bikes for work, so have little time to service them. I'm also on the spanners with work so when home dont then fancy a busman's holiday, got enough else to do repairing toy's for the kids and cutting the ever growing lawn. If your around the Derby/Notts area then RWF Motorcycles will do a 6k service for about £210. I print out the BM service sheets and Rob does them all bar the plug in fault stuff.
Mention my nane.....he'll add 10%, lol

RWF motorcycles - is Rob as in Rob Fleet used to work at Wraggs motorcycles in Chesterfield years ago

NOG have always been good to me, got an excellent price on my GS, was cheaper than some private sales i saw! :D

Got a nice discount on a tank bag too, so they always get my business :thumb2

Not looking forward to price on my 36k service, anyone have some recent prices?

Reading all these replies, and having also come from jap sport bikes (ZZR1400) don't you guys ever do your own servicing? One of the main reasons I now have a GSA is that they are so accessible and so easy to service. Ok, its not a 1200 but an 1150, but it seems de rigueur for the average BMW rider to automatically take their bikes to a dealer and pay extortionate amounts of cash to get what is a relatively easy (and self satisfying) process completed from the comfort of your own garage!

Everyone seems to be arguing about prices, and who does what better than the next dealer, when the majority of servicing on these bikes is fairly simple (as compared to a jap or Italian rocket-ship). Tell you what, bring your bikes to me and I'll do a good service for half what your cheapest quotes are.

Or is all just about getting a dealer stamp in the service book, to reduce residuals? :hide

Not being funny, just wondering is all!

If you want your BMW two year warranty to be honored, then you need that expensive BMW dealer stamp. simple as that.

Actually that is not the case. There is no need to use BM for the OEM warranty to remain valid. However BM will look more favourably on goodwill claims if you do use them. You do need to use them for the extended warranty.

As to why I don't service them myself - no garage, time, incompetence. I do all my own push bike servicing though - does that count? :)
