r1200 gsa 2058 model K25 drive shaft

can any one tell what kinda noise you get from the drive shaft when the UJ is worn as I think this is my problem on my r1200 gsa 2058 model K25 so its the diff end I think.

Is the noise while riding, or with the bike on the centre stand ?

Riding only . you can't tell with the bike on the stand any thing is a mis no play to be felt from diff hold top & bot of the wheel only standard play when rotating wheel and other than the noise the bike rides fine

just to add new to bmw gsa I have ridden it 2300 miles I have full serviced it, new front bearings all oils with new pads all round it only had 15500 miles on the clock when I bought it so hard to think these things drive shaft should be failing but I have check all rotational items as it is a rotational noise don't believe it is the diff

Propshaft might be seized or stuck on the final drive input spline.
You’ll need to drop the unit down to check.
Always a good idea to drain the oil from the rear drive as well to see if the bearings are ok

At 15500 miles there should be little wear due to usage. I am assuming you mean 2008 and not the futuristic 2058 model with time travel option? Is so, the it has spent a lot of time stationary. A seized sliding joint mght be more likely.
I think the gearbox input shaft is a weak point on these models. I stripped my gearbox to teplace the bearings. The bike had 148,000 miles on it and I was doing the engine bearings, pistons etc. During the strip down I found the input shaft shock absorber casing was split. A new one was not available because BMW had redesigned but not yet released the new part. I bought 3 2nd hand ones, all were coming apart in the same way. The symptom of this failing is a good solid "clunk" on every gear change, yet no excessive back lash when tested by hand.
Again, at 15500 that seems unlikely but something to bear in mind at least.
Check your sliding spline joints first though. Beware, if they are worn excessively the splines can become sharp - DAMHIK

Thanks for all your reply's. so I am pretty sure it's the diff end UJ Ive now dropped the diff and while in there inspected came apart easy. noting seized splines all good but a notchy UJ not tight just a bit notchy as I say. now yes 2008. milage is checkable with mot history so not been around the clock cheeers. LOL. Now lots of different part Number going on this one 33739898679 this one I think is correct. but I am told others from different models etc will fit who knows there drive shafts please

I can replace the u/j trunnions,as long as the yokes and splines are ok.

Ok yes all other parts are fine. only has 17300 on the clock. where are you based please
