R1200GS additional lights.

I've seen the following BMW lights:

and I'm after a bit of information, please.
I'd like to know the length and diameter, plus can they be connected direct to a 12V
supply, (switchable), without a ballast resistor or similar.
I'm looking at fitting one to my K in place of the existing headlamp, (daytime use only),
and I'm not familiar with the R1200GS!
