Hi
Is anyone using the baglux cover / alpha bag on the 1200GS. It's just that I've got one from my previous bike and was wondering how it looks / fits with the rider? Any photos available of this combination?
I've gone throu the other related threads but none show the alpha bag. Thanks

Baglux Alpha Bag/R1200 GS

Craig

like you i have a Alpha bag from previous bike and am now using with 1200

i would say its not the ideal bag as it sits a bit to far back on the Tank

i have only tried mine in normal mode ie not expanded and it was fine however in expanded mode it might push rider away from handlebars or make a perfect rest ? as it sits at an angle pointing to the rider

I dont have a photo but i cant post anyway but if your stuck could send you one via normal e-mail

it all depends on how much you want to carry so worth a try

if not you can always sell it on e-bay

Chris

Got the following response when asking about fitting my Tektra (similar to Alpha):

Thanks for your enquiry. The tank cover is available in Red/Light Grey – stock reference 1489B price £86 plus £7 p/p to most mainland UK addresses. The tank on the K1200GS is not very long from handlebars to seat, and the bag clips at the back are quite near the rider. Whilst the Tektra will physically fit, it will be quite near the rider. See attached image showing the 15 litre Roppongi bag on this bike.

Got a further response when asking about alternatives to the Roppongi:

All the road bike bags will fit on, but the bigger bags tend to be too long. We have a customer who has tried the Alpha and found it too long – he is now going to try the Delta which slopes towards the rider. The bag which ‘sits’ the furthest away from rider is the 8 ½ litres City - £54 The other small bag is the Shibuya 12 litres - £66. You may purchase direct from us or any good dealer (some of our dealers have bags in stock)

This image might help you, the bag is the alpha, its a wee bit large, slightly fouls the horn button on full lock but i find it ok for distance work.

That customer could well be me... I order an alpha but found the shape was square and because of the angle pressed into me. without it being extended !!!

I then ordered a DELTA which slopes like a wedge of cheese. Having used this on the trip to the GS meeting in Holland at the weekend I can confirm im keeping this one as it works perfectly for me. I did post a picture of alpha a couple of weeks ago and wil try and take one of the delta tomorrow.

A picture would be good.

Think I'm going for the city bag, as I only want to carry my widgets:)

Has anyone out there tried using the Bagster cover/harness with either of the Touratech tankbags (Standard or the LC). With this combination to me, the tank will be protected from scratching and will have a bag tailored to fit the bike. The only problems I can forsee is, will the seat fit with the combined double thickness of the tank cover and lower fixing strap of the bag. In my view, if this is possible, this will be the best solution.

here's some pictures
