Just had a letter hit the mat this morning from the dealer recalling my 2008 R1200GSA for a part replacement due to a safety issue. It doesn't specify what the faulty part is. Has anyone else had one/know what the issue is?

(I'm going to ring them tomorrow but just thought I'd ask if anyone else had any info on the subject)

I have an '08 GSA which has had recalls done for the front brake line and a resistor added to the alternator. Previous owner got the immobiliser (EWS) changed under warranty but I don't know if that was via a recall.

So for a safety issue I would suspect it's the brake line modification but I don't know what they actually do to it.

I had those things done on my previous GS. My late 08 bike already had those mods on it when I took delivery of it.

It sounds like it might be a clutch cable mod as per Andy B's link above. Thanks for the reply. I'll give em a ring tomorrow and get it booked in. It's due a service anyway.

Just had my 09 GSA done. SBW Hertford sent mechanic out to my house.
He put on a cable tie securing clutch cable to frame nr. left foot peg.
He was going on to do the same to a number of other bikes in the area.
Great service from SBW Hertford. :thumb2
Doug.
