Hi,

Does anyone know whether the "toothed" screen adjusters from a standard GS will fit a GSA to allow the screen to go more vertical or is it a case of out with the dremel and declit them?

Thanks

Nigel

Looks like a dremmel job because they're different, the GSA ones are longer to go through the extra upper support bar.

I fitted a GSA screen on my GS and had to butcher those bits to get more adjustment.

Yes they do fit, I got some for mine or you can (and many do) cut the bits off.

Yes, the GS ones will fit, but you'll also need the other 'bit' [1] into which the toothed bit slots.

I use the GS parts on the GSA screen to get it up further too.

[1] too tired to look it up now (I'm sure some nice soul will help, if not I'll reply tomorrow).

I'm taking my X-Challenge in tomorrow so will have a mouch round the showroom and then head to the parts department.

Thanks

Nigel

When I swapped screens I tried to fit the GS parts to the GSA screen and yes they would have gone in but the legs on one half of the originals were shorter and the two halves wouldn't clip together....I suppose I could have bolted everything up and it would have worked fine. But I'd bought all the bits for swapping over already so maybe didn't try too hard!!!! And then I butchered the new ones anyway.

ncpierce - I note that you have a BSA A7. Both my brother & I had one when they first came out. (If you'd like a photo pm me - I will send one to your e-mail address.) Coming back onto this thread there was a great deal written about fitting a GSA screen onto a GS. There are no real difficulties but as has been said the knurled screws on the GSA are about half an inch longer. The standard ones will fit but not with the locknuts inside so adjustment takes some care. You will also find a complete parts list somewhere.
