Bikes had service at Williams BMW, didn't notice until I got home the alarm wasn't working. I've switch it on in the bikes computer but it's still not working, is there something else that switches the alarm.
Can't just run the bike back it's 45miles away.

They may have disabled it for the service etc check the setting menu to reenable.

Then Id suggest they may have updated the software but not re enabled the alarm option. Sounds like you need to ring them.

You need to take the key away from close proximity of bike to enable for the alarm to function .
Spot on, the alarm works when the keyless key is not near the bike, thanks.
Next question, before it went into Williams for a service the alarm would beep if you touched the bike, it doesn't do this now, how do I set the mode so it beeps if someone touches the bike.
Thanks.

Thanks.

It's all explained in the riders manual page 96.

Turns out the dealer switched it off.
Well done Williams BMW. Don't suppose they will pay my petrol money for the 90 mile round trip.

I don't think for a minute that they said to them selves: 'Hey, lets change the settings on the customers bike, just for fun'.

The dealer probably upgraded software in the bike, and then the affected functions are reset to factory default. This is common knowledge, and the same happens to your car if the software is updated during service.

It's no big deal, but I find it silly of a customer to blame the dealer for the customers lack of basic knowledge of his bike...
