Hello all,

Does anyone know about the above issue on the R12 - I just brought it a week ago and i find im having issues (private sale sadly).

I have so far checked and it was serviced on in Jun, the bike runs on constant throttle, but when hot stumbles and is sometimes really jerky when accelerating/slowing down. I have replaced the plugs incase they were changed and sure enough dont look like they have for 2k miles, doesnt make any difference to the running of the motor. I went to BMW at the weekend and they said they could book it in within a few weeks and charge me £200 notes just to read the computer! WTF!

I have changed the plugs
Confident that the valves were done correctly as i know the mech (although i have also been stiffed for work he hasnt done!).
Disconnected the primary coils while running on both sides and it does drop the running of the motor.

I have been doing a load of reading on the interweb and i keep seeing 02 sensor heaters come up?

Any suggestions would be appriciated and any kind offers to check my codes near London would also be helpful (willing to donate to personal beer fund! if that is allowable in the site).

Thanks

Just to eliminate one possibility - look down by your right foot and make sure the ferrule on the end of the throttle cable is properly located in it's holder

Don't assume the valves are correct - check them, it doesn't take long. Balance the throttle bodies- it sounds like fairly extreme surging. The change when it's hot also suggests a breakdown in stick coils - do a search to get advice on how to check them...

Good luck :thumb2

Thanks for the advice guys i have ordered a GS911 - after i got the quote for BMW to check it = same price of a 911 and i can find the issues myself.

Again thanks for the help guys.
