Afternoon all,

Would anyone please be able to help with the torque settings for the relevant bolts to replace the lower LH crash bar and also the front mudguard.

Much appreciated.

Paul

Bondloc 243 is cheaper if buying it yourself, Loctite products are expensive for what they are.

(As a Marine Engineer we have plenty of the stuff.)

Thanks again for all the helpful replies. I’m not with the bike at the mo but are there any torque settings relating to refitting the front wheel after doing the mudguard?

I'll give you a tip on the mudgaurd screws. As someone who has removed and fitted about 1000,00000 of them at work. Tap out the threads after you have removed your screws. Then coat the screws with Copper-slip. You really don't need loctite on them at all.

Just nip them up to around 5nm. 2nm is the value with a new fork, clean thread and new (micro-encapsulated) screw.

These scews are notorious for seizing in the forklegs. And an absolute bugger to get out when they do.

In fact, real world and book figures rarely synchronise. Most torque values from a manual are based on new parts. With factory new threads. And with BMW, they love an encapsulated screw. Because it means you HAVE to replace it everytime, if you want to do it "their way". Which is really a scam to overcharge everyone for parts they absoolutely don't need.
