Not sure how you would fit a second nut as you attach a threaded spacer to a stud on the bike and bolt the mudsling to that. I just used blue locktite, a nylock nut and washer, but can't remember if that was standard? though I've done less than 2k so far. As far as the cable ties are concerned they are more than up to the job, having fitted a mudsling to 3 GS' and my RS without any problems. If you thread the cable ties correctly you can position the cable tie head so it's out of the way if the aesthetics are important to you. I had the Puig hugger on my GS, it didn't fail maybe because I'm not a high mileage rider but it did start making some strange banging noisrs so I took it off. I didn't fit one on my RS because of this and the experience others have had as TBH it didn't make a huge difference in my experience on my GS, yes it helped but it didn't solve the problem. I've since found the perfect solution.....don't ride in the rain/on wet roadsthanks for your reply and pic i have researched the puig hugger and found quite a few that have snapped and apparently bmw are saying take them off so i wont be bothering with one , nearly bought one this morning till i found out about the problem with them. i am only after something to protect the rear shock and keeping the back of the bike clean so think i am going to need a mudslinger, they look ok apart from having to use cable ties for the side, i wonder if it maybe ok to just drill another hole in the mudslinger and fit it with two nuts rather than just the one thanks again for your reply
